Kristofer and Tending the Mystical Body

Tending to the Mystical Body

In today's SSS video, Kristofer reflects on practices that engage the physical, spiritual and emotional parts of ourselves as a whole. As he shares his own experience and understanding of this, Kristofer asks us to consider what a holistic practice looks like in our own lives. On the heels of All Saints Sunday, he invites us to ponder the lives of three mystic saints in the Christian calendar that we commemorate today: Margery Kempe, Richard Rolle, and Walter Hilton. Kristofer draws attention to both their witness, as well as ways in which each of us are called to an embodied way of experiencing God in our lives. Saint Paul declared to the church in Corinth that our "body is a temple of the Holy Spirit...and that God created our physical bodies, therefore making it good and precious from the start" (6:19-20). What does it look like for you - on a daily basis - to tend to the mystical body of Christ?
