Kristofer and Loving in Lent

Loving in Lent

In today’s video, Kristofer reflects from his front porch on Jesus’ command to love our enemies. As he sits on the stoop, with lots of neighbors coming and going, he invites us to ponder how we are called to love in a new way this Lent. Kristofer shares here a recent experience of tensions with someone in the neighborhood who was behaving badly and how he and others reacted to it. He also invites us to contemplate what messages we are receiving about how we should treat one another. There are signs all around us that give us conflicting messages about how to respond. Jesus’ radical message of love is counter cultural in so many ways and it challenges us to look deeper within ourselves for the source of God’s outflowing. This Lent, how is Christ calling you to love? How will you respond?
