Is That a Speck In Your Eye? with the Rev. Dr. Kristofer Lindh-Payne

SSS

St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : August 23, 2022 =====================================

In today’s video, Kristofer reflects on the ways in which our judgement of ourselves can be projected onto others in ways that create barriers between us and get in the way of deepening relationship. He shares a recent experience from a hike in which a gnat got stuck in his eye causing quite a challenge and discomfort. What are the ways in which the obstructions in your own eyes prevent you from seeing the people and situations right in front of you clearly? What does the work of self examination look like in your own life? Jesus calls us to a non-judgmental way of being; but walking in this path requires radical acts of forgiveness of self and others. Thanks be to God that we have Jesus to show us the way to walk.

Luke 6 Jesus said: 37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; (W) 38 give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap, for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”(X)
