“Creatures Both Small and Great” with the Rev. Dr. Kristofer Lindh-Payne

St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : September 20, 2022 ========================================

In today’s video, Kristofer reflects on the powerful experience of gathering at St. Francis this past Sunday for the Back to Church Bash. All creation seemed to rejoice, as we celebrated and shared in fellowship: eating Taharka Brothers ice cream, listening and dancing to music, jumping on the moonbounce, and enjoying conversation with one another. With people of all ages gathered for the event, we also got to admire the miracle of a butterfly bursting forth from the cocoon at the playground’s edge. God’s timing is impeccable, huh?! “O Lord, how manifold are your works…creatures both small and great! (Psalm 104).”

Psalm 104:25–34 25 O Lord, how manifold are your works! * in wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. 26 Yonder is the great and wide sea with its living things too many to number, * creatures both small and great.

1 Peter 4:12–19 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, so that you may also be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory, which is the Spirit of God, is resting on you.
