"Praying for the Electoral Process" by the Rev. Dr. Kristofer Lindh-Payne

St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : November 8, 2022 =======================================

Today is election day in the United States. We hope that you have already voted or plan to go out to do so later in the day.

We invite you to pray these words from the Book of Common Prayer:

"Almighty God, to whom we must account for all our powers and privileges: Guide the people of the United States in the election of officials and representatives; that, by faithful administration and wise laws, the rights of all may be protected and our nation be enabled to fulfill your purposes; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

In today’s video, Kristofer reflects briefly on this midterm election, but also speaks about the annual Diocesan Convention that will occur later this week. He encourages us to ponder the life and ministry of St. Ammonius (c. 403) – whose feast day is today – as we grapple with present day matters of church and state.

We hope you will check out Kristofer’s video, but more importantly we ask you to pray and to get out and vote.
