The Life and Ministry of Frederick Douglass with Kristofer

SSS

In today’s video, Kristofer reflects on the life and ministry of Frederick Douglass: an American abolitionist, women’s suffragist, editor, orator, author, statesmen, reformer, and minister. As Kristofer shares key elements of Douglass’ powerful story, he invites us to consider the profound connections with our own lives and ministries now almost 130 years after his death. Because Douglass was such a prolific writer, there are so many sources from which to draw from the deep waters of his truth telling. For a listing of some of Frederick Douglass’ writings and to learn more about him, follow this Library of Congress link or do your own research and see where it leads you.

How does what you learn about Douglass’ life impact the choices you make today? How are we at St Francis being called to be part of God’s liberative work in the world?
