"Arise, daughter; shine, daughter"

Arise, daughter; shine, daughter, for your light has come, daughter, and the glory of the Holy One has risen upon you, daughter. (Isaiah 60:1)

The above translation of the Old Testament reading appointed for the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6 is that of the Rev. Dr. Wilda C. Gafney from her book A Women's Lectionary for the Whole Church: Year W. To learn more about this project click here.

In preparation to move from the Christmas season into the Feast of the Epiphany and into the season of Epiphany, I am praying with different translations of Isaiah 60: 1-6, 11. You can find the reading here.

I hope this new translation blesses you as you prepare for Epiphany. Peace!
