The Life and Ministry of Absalom Jones

February 13th is the feast day of blessed Absalom Jones, the first black American priest. In today’s reflection, Kristofer speaks about the powerful life and ministry of this saint of God. Born into slavery in Delaware in 1746, Jones and his family suffered many hardships. It is hard to imagine what their life was like, but it is important to ponder their stories and the stories of enslaved peoples if we are to continue the important work of racial justice and reconciliation today. Learn more about Absalom Jones here.

What does the work of love and liberation look like in our own context at St. Francis and in our wider Baltimore community?
