Kristofer and a Warm Welcome at the Door

A Warm Welcome at the Door

Today’s video reflection comes from Kristofer as he shares a warm welcome to you at the front door of the Worship Entrance at St. Francis Parish. This outdoor space has become repurposed during this winter season, as we continue to gather for in-person worship. This overhang provides shelter when the weather conditions can be pretty brutal, as a refuge from the cold, the wind, the rain, sleet, and snow.

Kristofer also shares a story about another Baltimore County church that had been allowing unhoused people to sleep on their porch - that is, until recently when they boarded up the enclosure and posted no trespassing signs.

In these challenging times, when so many are struggling, what does it mean to be a place of welcome? In these challenging times, what does it mean to seek and serve Christ in the least of these? In these challenging times, what does it mean to love our neighbor as ourselves, and to strive for justice and peace?

Kristofer doesn’t offer answers to these questions, but he does offer hope that we can find those answers together. So, what do you think? So, what do you want to do together?
