Kristofer and Posture in Prayer
As God brings us spiritual sustenance for the day ahead, we know not what form it may take. As we seek healing, or strength, or wisdom, or forgiveness, or patience, or whatever else we may need, we know not exactly where it will come from. The psalmist here, in the reading from Psalm 121 that Kristofer shares, declares that “when we lift our eyes to the hills” that from there “our help comes from the Lord”. Sure God’s help comes from beyond on the horizon, AND it also comes from within. No matter what posture we take in prayer - head bowed low or lifted high, eyes turned to the heavens or closed to turn inward, on our knees or flat on our backs - no matter what posture we take, God is with us. God is with you.

Prayer: In the Morning
This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.
