That Bush is Burning!
Coming from a VERY dry part of this country, the story of the burning bush reminds me of how quickly fire can consume anything in its path, because I have lived in a climate where it easily happens. If someone throws a cigarette butt out the window, watch out. A brush fire will occur and it will spread faster than you can imagine. I wonder if that's what Moses thought when he saw the burning bush in today's Summer Bible Reading, Exodus 3.
I wonder if his first thought was to run to the bush and extinguish the fire before it could spread in that dry climate that he lived in. But then he noticed, that the bush burned, but the fire didn't grow. The bush was still whole, but the fire was within it. What could this be?
