Amy Shimonkevitz and Hoping

SSS

Advent is a time of hoping and waiting. Sometimes we become discouraged or disappointed as well. Do not despair! We may think that hope sets us up for disappointment, but in fact, our hope in God does not disappoint. Moreover, disappointment does not move us away from being blessed or from being called by God. It is our blessing, our calling, that helps us to remain hopeful.

Remember Romans 5:3-5 — “…we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has ben poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.”
