St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : August 31, 2022 =====================================

The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world and all who dwell within. For it is God who founded it (Ps 24: 1-2a St. Helena Psalter)

St. Francis Episcopal Parish and Community Center draws many people who love tending and caring for the Earth as God's creation. Gardens, flowers, community gardens that produce herbs and vegetables, rain gardens, bees, worshipping outside in all manner of weather...there are countless ways that we as a community give thanks for the Earth.

From September 1 - through to our communal celebration of our feast day on Sunday, October 2, all who join us for communal worship online or in person will see and and experience moments in our liturgy - our worship - that are intended to strengthen our discipleship as stewards of the Earth. The purpose of liturgy is to form us as disciples of Jesus Christ - to strengthen and nurture and shape and form us to embody God's presence in this time and place and context. Our faith community will be joining with the two billion Christians worldwide in marking the Season of Creation in our common worship life.

For more about the Season of Creation, read our Thursday Chronicle e-newsletters. You can also visit www.seasonofcreation.org/about.
