A Conversation with Amy and Kristofer: Defining Their New Roles in 2023

SSS

Thanks be to God and to the vision and leadership of the Vestry and Officers at St. Francis Episcopal Parish and Community Center for re-imagining the leadership roles Amy and Kristofer hold as St. Francis grows into its call as parish and community center.

As of January 1, 2023, Rev. Dr. Amy Slaughter Myers and Rev. Dr. Kristofer Lindh-Payne have new leadership roles: Amy is Rector and Kristofer is Mission Developer. For those of you familiar with Episcopal terminology, you may already know that the Rector is the priest in charge of parish. While the day-to-day tasks of a Rector are varied and shaped by the context of the parish in which she serves and her gifts and skills, you can find a solid, brief summary of what Rectors do in general here.

Mission Developer may be a term completely new to you. Generally speaking, mission development in the Episcopal Church nurtures congregations in their relationships and partnerships outside their churches, allowing those partnerships and relationships to develop deeper capacity in the congregation in participating in God’s mission.

In this 7-minute video, Amy and Kristofer talk about how their new roles at St. Francis develop and nurture St. Francis as a community of faith.
