God Delights in You

What do you take delight in? Do you experience delight every day?

Close your eyes if you would like to and call forth an image in your mind of someone or something in which you take great delight. Maybe it's a beloved person or animal, the sunrise or sunset, the ocean or a landscape, the sound of laughter or music...Really sit with your delight. What does it feel like? When I experience delight, it is usually with a sense of surprise and wonder. It has an element of discovery, of newness, of something unexpected coming into being and giving me great, great joy. I feel lighter, I feel buoyant, sometimes I laugh out loud. It gives me great pleasure and sustains me beyond the present moment. God delights in you - have you ever thought about that? God takes great delight in God's creation and you - yes, you - are a part of God's creation and God delights in you!
