God and Wealth
Today’s reflection comes from Kristofer, as he ponders a series of parables in the chapters from Luke’s Gospel assigned over the next few days (16,12,18). Jesus’ words in these accounts challenge us to consider the way we are possessed by our possessions. This challenge is unsettling, but the deeper invitation is too live a much richer, much more free life. As any good parable can, each story can be engaged on multiple levels depending upon where you find yourself in life. Jesus has the uncanny ability to meet us wherever we are but he doesn’t leave us there. He invites us to travel along with him. As we find ourselves walking beside Jesus, who knows where we will end up? Who knows how we will be changed by the experience?
