March 19, 2020 - STEEP Spiritual Sustenance with the Rev. Dr. Amy Slaughter Myers

Eucharist, the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion – that weekly or daily sacramental feast that we partake in as the Body of Christ and that is now put on hold.

Sharing the bread and the wine undergirds our identity as Christians. Jesus himself on the night before he died taught us to gather and share the bread and the wine in remembrance of him. Where is our bread, now, in these times, when we can’t gather? This is such a personal question for each of us, one that gets to the heart of our relationship with Jesus.

I'm sharing a brief reflection on my experience of the Eucharist at STEEP. The Scripture passage I use is Luke 11:1-13. I invite your comments, notes, experiences - anything you would like to share. Feel free to reach out at revamy@steepmd.org

God’s Peace be with you, Amy
