Kristofer and Feeding the Hungry

Jesus said, “You give them something to eat” (Mt 14:16, Mk 6:37)

There are many examples within our scriptures that lift up the importance of caring for the most vulnerable in our communities - especially feeding those who are hungry. We have multiple accounts of Jesus, through miraculous means, feeding thousands of people at a time. In this time of pandemic, those who struggle with food insecurity are only increasing. As this need arises, so too can our compassion and our creativity as we respond in love to our neighbors. It is in times such as these that we hear again the echo of Jesus’ words to his disciples: “You give them something to eat”. During this crisis, how are you being fed? How are you feeding others?

Almighty God, whose loving hand has given us all that we possess: Grant us grace that we may honor you with our substance, and, remembering the account which we must one day give, may be faithful stewards of your bounty, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
