"Walk In Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices" with the Rev. Dr. Amy Slaughter Myers

SSS

St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : October 5, 2022 ========================================

Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2).

Welcome to a journey of exploring the Episcopal faith, practices, and identity!

Whether you are long familiar with the Episcopal Church - or , if you are anything like me, think you are familiar with the Episcopal Church - this book is a wonderful companion on the way.

St. Francis is both Episcopal Parish and Community Center. What does it mean today to be an Episcopal Parish? What is our unique identity as people who follow Jesus in the Episcopal or Anglican tradition - and what is Anglican and Episcopal even mean and what's the relationship between them? This series will explore this.

Are you being drawn to Baptism, Reception or Confirmation? Would you like to explore prayer in community, liturgy, how Episcopalians approach Scripture and what is different from other Christian approaches to Scripture that we see in the media or among friends and family? This series will prepare you.

Do you connect with St. Francis Episcopal Parish and Community Center only virtually or only at particular events or only on Sunday morning or only on Wednesday evenings or Thursday food events? Wherever you are and whoever you are, all are invited on this journey. This series will have gathering opportunities in-person and online and one-on-one. This series is for you.   Are you struggling with God and the violence and evil in the world? Are you struggling with the Church's failure to act in ways that give glory to the God of love? Are you struggling with what and how to talk about your faith with kids, friends, family and strangers? This series is for you.

Next week's SSS will reflect on the Introduction and Chapter 1 of Walk in Love. You don't need to purchase the book to participate. But, if you would like to, then you can learn more about the book and/or purchase it HERE
