"Feasting and Lamenting with St. Francis" by the Rev. Dr. Kristofer Lindh-Payne

SSS

St. Francis Spiritual Sustenance : October 4, 2022 ========================================

In today’s video on the actual feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, Kristofer reflects on the powerful worship experience we had on Sunday in observance of the feast. (Missed it? Watch the service online HERE.)

Kristofer describes in some detail the impact the music in the liturgy had on him. As he ponders Brother Francis’ life and ministry, through themes emerging from our prayer and song, Kristofer speaks of the profound urgency for the church to rediscover the saint’s ethic for stewardship of creation.

He offers sung reflection on verses from one of the hymns from Sunday, as well as a present day perspective on that tune with an accompanying call to faithful environmental action. He references both “All Creatures of our God and King” (Hymnal 1982 # 400) and “All Creatures Lament” from the Porter’s Gate Worship Project. Find the source HERE
