About Me

I grew up in central and southern Maryland in an Episcopalian family. Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. As my life went on, the call to that vocation clarified to be one to ordained ministry with youth. I did spend some time away from church in my own teenage years. My mom was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's when I was in middle school and she died when I was in high school. Her illness and death shook my faith to its core. God called me back to Them when I was a freshman in college, and I began working as a camp counselor at the Claggett Center that summer. I got involved with St. Andrew's, Glenwood that fall, and it was during the rest of my college years that my ministry at camp and with St. Andrew's allowed me to hear a call to ordained ministry. In between college and seminary I spent a year in the Episcopal Service Corps and two years at the former Epiphany Episcopal Church, all the while moving through the formal steps of the discernment process with the Diocese of Maryland. In 2022, I graduated from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA with my Masters of Divinity. I'm very glad to be back in Maryland!

My Role

As the Assistant Rector for Children, Youth, and Families, it is my job to connect with kids and their parents and to create space for them to connect with each other. It is these very connections that can sustain us in times of trial and that can join us in celebration during times of joy. At St. Francis, we want to instill the values and convictions of Justice, Mercy, and Humility in our kids so they grow up to do the work God has given us to do. It takes a village, and it's my role to help this particular village do the beautiful, hard, and rewarding work of raising people together.

My Dream for St. Francis

To be a community where children and youth feel safe, supported, and loved exactly as they are. My dream for St. Francis is to be a place known for taking good care of children and enriching the lives of youth. I want this community to be so good at, and known for, taking care of each other that it is one of the first places families turn to for support.

A Few of My Favorite Things

Dogs: I am the proud dog-parent to Esther and Ruthie. Esther is a Pug/Boston Terrier mix and Ruthie is a Chihuahua mix. I have yet to meet a dog I didn't like!

Author: Jodi Picoult. I love her novels and absolutely devour them when new ones are released ~every other year.

Pandemic Pastime: During the early lockdown phase of the pandemic, I logged 500+ hours on the Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Ask me about my fictional island!

Fun Fact

In high school I worked in accounting as an internal auditor for the Arc of Southern Maryland, and in college I worked as a birthday party performer, doing interactive science shows for kids!
