Amy and “the little clans of Judah”

SSS

One of the little clans of Judah (Micah 5:2)

Throughout scripture, God takes forgotten, small, unremarkable people and places and does marvelous work in and through them for the blessing of the entire world.

In the Old Testament reading for this upcoming Sunday, Bethlehem is one of those small things through which God works: You, O Bethlehem of Ephrathah, who are one of the little clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to rule Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.

If you would like to pray with our readings for this upcoming Sunday Advent IV, you can find them here: https://www.lectionarypage.net/YearC_RCL/Advent/CAdv4_RCL.html

There is also a new Advent Word today. You can find the day's Advent Word and more on our Advent calendar, which is available on our website, stfrancismd.org/advent-calendar-2021, Facebook page, and Instagram. Each day we will share the day’s #AdventWord from AdventWord.org, Way of Love reflection from the Episcopal Church, and an activity that may be a craft or an invitation to celebrate with community.
